Who we are: the story and philosophy behind SharyCo

SharyCo is an engagement and community platform for organizations, founded in Argentina in 2021. Today it operates from Argentina across Latin America, as well as in Spain. Organizations are investing more and more in culture, engagement, and purpose — we believe the answer didn't need to be invented: humanity has been practicing it for centuries.

Our Story

I was born premature, with barely a 20% chance of survival. When medicine no longer had answers, my mom spent entire days holding me skin to skin to keep me alive. Without knowing it, that experience would shape the way I understand the world: people have the power to change other people's lives.

Years later, while I was building a corporate career, my nephew was born with glycogenosis, a rare disease that can cause critical glucose crashes and irreversible neurological damage. My sister was able to buy a sensor that saved his life several times, but another child with the same disease didn't have that possibility because his family couldn't afford it.

That day, I realized that the difference between a life full of opportunities and a tragedy often lies not in illness, but in money. I began to wonder why access to healthcare, well-being, or new opportunities should depend solely on a bank account rather than on the positive impact a person has on the world.

I decided to leave my career to build an alternative. That's how SharyCo was born: with the vision of turning positive impact into a new currency of value. Today we help organizations transform their sustainability, wellbeing, and culture goals into concrete actions by their employees, convinced that companies are the best starting point for driving behavioral change at scale.

Together with Alejandro Jatib (CTO), Juan Ignacio Sosa López (CDO), and Federico Basilico (CCO), we work to build a future where creating positive impact opens up opportunities for people and shows that changing the world can also become a sustainable business model.

Three ancient words for a modern problem

Three traditions, three continents, one same intuition: wellbeing is built together.

Andes
AYNI — RECIPROCITY

What is ayni?

Ayni is a principle of reciprocity from the Quechua and Aymara communities of the Andes: today I help you with your harvest, tomorrow you help me with my roof. Giving doesn't create a debt; it creates a bond.

SharyCo's circular economy is ayni turned into a platform: people in your organization post products, favors, and services to lend to each other. Whoever lends earns Shary Points; whoever needs them, uses them.

Southern Africa
UBUNTU — I AM BECAUSE WE ARE

What is ubuntu?

Ubuntu is a philosophy from Southern Africa summed up in the phrase "umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu": a person is a person through other people.

At SharyCo, no action stands alone. The Wall makes visible what each person contributes, and collective challenges are only achieved as a team.

Japan
INTOKU (陰徳) — THE DISCREET VIRTUE

What is intoku?

Intoku is doing good without seeking recognition. In Japanese tradition, a good deed done in silence is worth more than one done to be seen.

This principle is our compass — and our self-critique. SharyCo's true success is the day points are no longer needed to act with good will.

What we believe

That people want to contribute, and that organizations just need the space for that to happen. SharyCo is that space: reciprocity to connect (ayni), community to belong (ubuntu), and habits that remain once the challenge is over (intoku).
